about me

About Me Welcome to Ron’s Financial Lab. " My name is Ronnie Loo, and I have been in the stockbroking industry since 1993, working in various roles across the capital market, with most of my experience on the sell-side. Over the years, I have had the privilege of observing market cycles, investor behaviour, corporate developments, and the many ways finance connects with business, policy, and human decision-making. I have always loved reading. Finance, investing, business history, academic research, market behaviour, and good books have shaped the way I think. This blog is my personal space to collect, study, and share ideas that I find useful. Many academic articles and journals contain valuable insights, but they are often written in a technical style that can be difficult or dry for everyday readers. My aim is to turn these ideas into short, simple, and practical summaries. I do not claim to have all the answers. I am still learning, reading, and refining my thinking every day. At the moment, I am pursuing my Doctorate in Business Administration, and I am currently at the thesis proposal stage. This has deepened my interest in research, especially in areas related to finance, investment behaviour, capital markets, SMEs, and Malaysia’s financial development. Ron’s Financial Lab is part reading archive, part learning journal, and part sharing platform. It is where I record what I have learned, reflect on financial ideas, and share articles that may benefit investors, students, professionals, and anyone curious about finance."
